When Pokrov found out that Kenneth Lasky (aka Father Konan) had not registered as a sex offender after his release from prison, Pokrov put out an alert to all Orthodox Christians. One of our readers notified us of Lasky’s whereabouts, and we wrote a letter to the Michigan State police notifying him of the whereabouts. Pokrov received the following letter from Detective Charles Greenway.

November 7, 2002

To: Ms. Greta Larson

Dear Ms. Larson,

On Thursday, July 18, 2002 our office received written correspondence from yourself regarding a registered sex offender (Kenneth Lasky) who appeared to have failed to take the responsibility of updating his registration as prescribed by law.

As a result of your letter an investigation was initiated into this matter at which time Mr. Lasky was located in a local nursing home undergoing treatment for a severe back and neck injury.

Appropriate steps were taken to insure that Mr. Lasky’s registration status was updated through the Law Enforcement Information Network and any future movement by him will be closely monitored to ensure that his sex offender registration status remains current.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention. If I can be of any further assistance to you in the future, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
