Editorial on the Second Anniversary of Scott Nevins’ Suicide
Today is the second anniversary of Scott Nevin’s suicide at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Monastery in Florence, Arizona. We here at Pokrov.org ask what has been done in the past two years by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and the Metropolis of San Francisco to ensure that this tragedy will not be repeated? We asked the same question last year.
The answer is still NOTHING.
Archbishop Demetrios Trakatellis and Metropolitan Gerasimos Michaleas are accountable for what happened at the Florence monastery. Scott’s blood is on their hands. What more will it take for these leaders to take decisive ACTION against what appears to be a sect within their church that acts like a destructive cult?
While we here at Pokrov.org continue to wait for some sign of accountability from those in positions of power, we again extend our sympathy to Scott’s family and friends. We hope that they find some comfort today in their unimaginable grief.
