Saint Nicholas Greek Orthdoox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs, Florida, is a parish of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (GOA), Metropolis of Atlanta.
In 1989, Father Tryfon Theophilopoulos worked at Saint Nicholas. Theophilopoulos was interviewed by the St. Petersburg Times when Father John M. Liadis was arrested in July of 1989 for sexually assaulting a fifteen year old girl at the Greek Orthodox Youth Center in Brooksville. Liadis was the director of the camp from 1979-1989, and he often brought children from the camp to Saint Nicholas.
Father John Katsoulis worked at the church from 1998 until his suspension.
In 2009 Hieromonk Alexios Marakis worked at the cathedral. When Marakis was assaulted by Marine reservist who said the monk sexually assaulted him, Father Michael Eaccarino, who was Marakis’ superior at the cathedral, gave background information about the monk to the media.
Father Anastasios “Taso” Gounaris worked at the cathedral from 2014-2015.
