Archimandrite Andoni Callozzo

Archimandrite Andoni Callozzo is a priest in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA. He worked at the Nativity of Christ Orthodox Church in Youngstown, Ohio, beginning in 2012. The parish belongs to the Moscow Patriarchate in the USA.

Callozzo was arrested 0n June 23, 2015, and charged with sexual imposition. According to news reports, the 73 year old priest followed an 18 year old man into a restaurant bathroom in May and fondled him. On July 28, 2015, Callozzo pleaded no contest to the charge. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, which was suspended, and one year’s probation.¬† The monk was also fined and prohibited from contacting the victim.

A representative of the Moscow Patriarchate told reporters that Callozzo was permanently removed from the Youngstown parish. He also said that the priest had been suspended by his Ukrainian bishop.
