Archpriest Gregory Safchuk is a priest in the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), Diocese of Washington. He is assigned to Saint Mark Church in Bethesda, Maryland.

Prior to serving in the Diocese of Washington, Safchuk worked at Saint Innocent Orthodox Church in Tarzana, California. That parish belongs to the Diocese of the West.

According to a lawsuit filed on June 25, 2013, while Safchuk was the priest at Saint Innocent he learned of the inappropriate conduct of John Soucek involving a 13 year old girl. Soucek at the time was an ordained reader and choir director at the parish. The complaint alleged that Safchuk did nothing with this information, and the girl was subsequently molested by Soucek.

In 2002, Safchuk was a member of the OCA’s Administrative Committee, a subset of the Metropolitan Council which, according to the OCA Statute, meets “in conjunction with the Lesser Synod of Bishops upon their invitation, to discuss normal church administrative procedures.” As a member of the Administrative Council, Safchuk’s signature allegedly appeared on a promissory note for $250,000 purportedly given to the former priest Robert S. Kondratick in April of 2002.
