Archbishop Mark Maymon is a hierarch in the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). He heads the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania. He was awarded the rank of archbishop at the 2015 spring session of the OCA’s synod.
Prior to joining the OCA, Maymon was a bishop in the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America (AA). He was the bishop for the Diocese of Toledo and the Midwest. Maymon became the bishop of Toledo and the Midwest in 2004, following the retirement of Bishop Demetri Matta Khoury.
In 2009, the status of Maymon, as well as the other diocesan bishops of the AA, was called into question. It was unclear whether he was an auxilliary bishop under Metropolitan Philip Saliba, or the ruling bishop of his own diocese.
