Father Anthony Boake was a priest in the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, Diocese of Wichita and Mid-America. He was employed by Saints Constantine and Helen Church in Carrollton, Texas, as a priest from 1986 until his murder in 1993.
During the trial of Boake’s murderer, witnesses testified that the priest engaged in homosexual relationships and used drugs. The murderer alleged that he killed Boake in a panic brought on by the priest’s forceful demands for sex.
Boake was an Austin, Texas native. He attended Saint Vladimir Orthodox Seminary in Crestwood, New York, class of 1981, and is buried in the cemetery at Christ of the Hills Monastery in Blanco, Texas.
In addition to being employed as the priest at Saints Constantine and Helen, Boake lived as a monk at New Valaam, Finland, for seven years. Subsequently, he came to Saints Constantine and Helen, where he served as a deacon for six months. Next, Boake worked at Saint Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. After six years there, he was ordained a priest and returned to the Carrollton church.
