Father John Lipinski is a priest in the Archdiocese of Edmonton and Canada of the non-canonical Autonomous True Orthodox Metropolia of North and South America and the British Isles.
Formerly, Lipinski was a priest in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada (UOCC).
Lipinski was relieved of his clerical duties in the UOCC in 2011 in the wake of criminal charges. The priest, along with his wife Angela, was alleged to have been involved in an immigration scam in which foreign workers were lured to Alberta with false promises and fake student visas. The Lipinskis were also sued by the workers.
Under a plea bargain revealed on October 9, 2012, the charges against Lipinski and his wife were dropped. The company owned by the Lipinskis and a partner pleaded guilty to one count under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. The company was fined $215,000. The Agreed Statement of Facts from the plea bargain is linked above.
