Frances Psichogios has been accused of sex crimes against two women. The offenses were committed during prayer sessions. Both victims were Greek Orthodox.
Early in the case it was also reported in the media that Psichogios was a highly regarded member of Sydney’s Greek Orthodox community. However, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia denied the association.
Psichogios was convicted in December, 2010. She was found guilty of 7 charges, including administering an intoxicating substance.
Psichogios was sentenced to a minimum term of 5 years, with a maximum term of 9 years. Psichogios maintains her innocence.
