Joseph O’Bryan was a catachumen at a church belonging to the Antiochian Orthodox Orthodox Christian Archdiocese in Whatcom County, Washington.
During the time O’Bryan was learning the faith he was arrested, convicted and incarcerated for child molestation in the third degree. The victim was a fourteen year-old Orthodox girl from the parish.
O’Bryan served a nine-month sentence in Whatcom County, and was released in February of the year 2000. He was also ordered to pay court costs, victim fund assessment fees and court-appointed attorney fees.
According to information that Pokrov has received, O’Bryan is currently an active member of a parish in Washington which belongs to the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of America.
