Metropolitan Joseph Bosakov is the head of the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Diocese of the USA, Canada and Australia.

In 2000 he accepted many parishes formerly affiliated with the Holy Order of MANS/Christ the Saviour Brotherhood into his diocese.

The metropolitan also took in St. Isaac of Syria Skete in Boscobel, Wisconsin. The skete is an off-shoot of Christ of the Hills Monastery in Blanco, Texas.

Bosakov and St. Isaac’s apparently parted ways in 2009, as the skete no longer appears on the diocesan website. The metropolitan had removed the monastery’s founder, Archimandrite Simeon Gitlis, from the priesthood and as abbot of the skete in March, 2009. However, the monastery’s property was reportedly owned by an independent nonprofit corporation, so Bosakov could not stop the group from operating at the site.
