Tony Golossian was one of two Australian men arrested in 2008 for 230 sex crimes against two women committed during prayer sessions. Both victims were Greek Orthodox.
Early in the case it was reported that Golossian was a highly regarded member of Sydney’s Coptic Orthodox community. Later articles said that he was a Syrian-born Catholic.
Golossian was convicted in December, 2010. He was found guilty of 24 charges, most of which were sexual intercourse without consent.
Golossian was sentenced to a minimum term of 15 years, with a maximum term of 20 years. He maintains his innocence.
