Priest Arrested In Kidnapping, Sex Assault Case
Police: Woman Says Visiting Priest Held Her Against Her Will
HONOLULU — Honolulu police on Wednesday arrested a 56-year-old priest at an East Honolulu Church in connection with the sexual assault and kidnapping of a woman.
The incident happened at the Saint Sophia Ukrainian Greek Catholic Mission Sunday, police said. The priest, who is not from Hawaii, was visiting the church, they said.
A 55-year-old woman told authorities the priest held her against her will and sexually assaulted her.
Officers arrested the priest on charges of kidnapping and fourth-degree sexual assault, which is inappropriate touching.
The St. Sophia Ukrainian Greek Catholic Mission referred KITV4s questions to the Saint Nicholas Eparchy in Chicago.
