Primate Pays Pastoral Visit to St. Geragos Armenian Church of Las Vegas

On November 14, 2016, the Primate paid a pastoral visit to St. Geragos Armenian Church where with the participation of reverend clergy and faithful, His Eminence presided over an evening prayer service. Archbishop Derderian commended the Very Rev. Fr. Sasoon Dz. V. Zumrookhdian for his pastoral leadership, Archpriest Fr. Nareg Matarian, the former pastor for shepherding the flock of Christ with God’s divine love and the faithful for their unrelenting dedication and enduring affection for the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Consecrated on May 6, 2016, St. Geragos Armenian Church of Las Vegas hosted the 89th annual Diocesan Assembly on the same day. The Very Rev. Fr. Sasoon Dz. V. Zumrookhdian was appointed as Pastor of the parish by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, the Diocesan Primate.

Four months after the consecration, the parish has remained as the religious and cultural safehaven of the community of more than 20,000 Armenian-Americans residing in the State of Nevada.
