Boston- The teenage son of a Greek-Orthodox priest has been accused of assaulting a 4-year old boy in front of his 6-year-old sister at the Holy Resurrection of Christ parish in Brookville, Long Island, NY.

Because they are under legal age, the New York Daily News broke the story without naming the alleged attacker or the victim, whose family is a member of the parish. The incident was said to have occurred in May, 2015 in a secluded area of the premises.

The National Herald, through its own investigation, has discovered that the alleged perpetrator is the son of one of the supplementary priests who used to fill in on weekends.

The presiding priest of the parish Rev. John Vlachos, had been assigned to the Deanship of the Holy Trinity Archdiocesan Cathedral of New York City and the parish of the Holy Resurrection was awaiting the appointment of its new priest, Fr. Andreas Vithoulkas when this allegedly happened.

The parents of the 4-year-old alleged victim filed a lawsuit in a Superior Court in Manhattan on July 22 against the parish, the Archdiocese, and His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America, according to the Daily News.

They are demanding $10 million for each child saying their children “are now fearful about their safety, losing sleep, depressed, and otherwise scarred.”

Messages to the leadership of the church were not returned, as of this moment.

More details will follow.
