Two priests in the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), Father John Soucek and Archimandrite Zacchaeus Wood, were among those removed from the ranks of clergy effective October 22, 2014. Although the OCA did not give any reasons for its actions, both men had been accused of sexual misconduct.

Soucek, along with the OCA and Saint Innocent Orthodox Church in Tarzana, Californa, was sued on June 25, 2013, for the sexual abuse of a minor female child (13 years of age). According to the complaint, the abuse occurred circa 2000, when Soucek was an ordained reader as well as the choir director at Saint Innocent. The complaint also alleged that there were other victims at the Tarzana parish as well.

Wood was recalled from his position at the OCA cathedral in Moscow in 2011. According to the website Orthodox Christians for Accountability, the archimandrite was accused of sexual misconduct.
